I'm back to accept my "bad blogger" award!!

I just have one word for you.....Twilight...enough said! Throw in a few birthdays and weekend trips and it's a recipe for a bad blogger!! I know, I'm a little late to jump on the Twilight bandwagon, but I'm so glad I finally broke down and started reading these books. I can't believe how disconnected from the real world I've been! Fortunately, I was able to borrow the first and second book from my sweet SIL, now I'm on a waiting list at the library for the last two. Which is a good thing, because you wouldn't believe how much work can pile up when you deviate from your normal routine! This is why I don't read much anymore, I get so wrapped up and let everything else go...including blogging. We have a weekend lake trip planned and then hopefully I can get back into the swing of things next week. I am seriously missing my crafty time!
'til then

Happy Belated Birthday Lauren!

On May 14 my niece, Lauren, turned 10 years old. Isn't she beautiful! {Sorry this is so late, Lauren!}
So, Let me tell you about my favorite niece...she is going to be an entrepreneur some day! This girl is always thinking of ways to make money! Like when her mom was helping organize a vendor fair at her school. She had Lauren with her who was coloring quietly on the bleachers, until Jen realized she was missing...she was selling her artwork to the vendors as they were setting up their booths!! Or when she used to lay out her treasures (painted rocks, drawings, etc.) on the table and invite her grandparents over to shop. Currently, she is into making beverages at the lake house for their guests and she sets up a tip jar!! So watch out and come with spare change when you visit! TOO FUNNY!
We celebrated this milestone with a pizza party at the lake. It was a short weekend trip. Nobody got in the lake (too cold!), but the kids did get some fishing in. So much fun!

Moxie Fab World Citrus Color Challenge

Here is a card I posted for the Moxie Fab World Citrus Color Challenge. I'm tellin' ya I am digging these color challenges! Here is the color inspiration straight from a Pottery Barn catalog:

The flowers were stamped originally for another card, but after changing directions on that card, I decided to start over. I kept the stamped image and was able to use it for this card. I love it when things just fall into place!

So, I've realized that I am in a papercrafting rut! As I scroll thru my recent posts, I notice a reoccurring theme...Papertrey Ink's Life stamp set and Nestabilities Label One die. So, I vow not to pick up either of those two products for awhile! I didn't even realize I was doing it... I just love them! Anyway, I have a couple of new challenges I'd like to try this week so hopefully I will get some stamping time in soon and I promise to use a different stamp set! {Lord knows I have plenty to choose from!!}

I also have a lot of family stuff to share in the next week or so. I still want to do a birthday post for my niece, Lauren. Her birthday was May 14th and we went to their lake house for the weekend. I also celebrated a birthday last weekend and we had our first official pool party and I got some great pictures. {Jen-Watch for those...you won't want to miss that!!! HA!}

'til then...
Melanie
